Dear Visitors,

I have the honor to have been appointed as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) since 22 December 2025.

As one of its founding members, Türkiye has been effectively contributing to ICAO’s work since its inception and attaching utmost importance to the implementation of its rules and standards, while fully adhering to its founding values, such as friendship and cooperation among States.

Today, with its unique geographical location, robust human resources, well-developed physical infrastructure and technical/technological capacity, Türkiye is among the leading countries in global civil aviation. The rapid development of the Turkish civil aviation sector and consistent steps to enhance bilateral and international cooperation have further strengthened our country’s position in this field.

The priority of our Permanent Representationto ICAO is to safeguard Türkiye’s interests in civil aviation through joint work and close coordination with our relevant authorities and stakeholders, while contributing to collective efforts to support ICAO in achieving its strategic objectives, including its capacity building, assistance and training programme, in accordance with its “No Country Left Behind” objective.

In this context, while actively promoting ICAO’s strategic mission and vision, we also attach importance to cooperation with other relevant international institutions based in Montreal such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Airports Council International (ACI), Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) and Satellite-Aided Search & Rescue Program (COSPAS-SARSAT).

Furthermore, along with our relevant authorities, we contribute to international cooperation regarding the UN Convention of Biological Diversity (UNCBD), whose Secretariat is based in Montreal.

Last but not least, together with our Embassy in Ottawa and Consulate General in Montreal, we will maintain close contacts with our citizens living in Montreal.
